UK Customs Consultancy
Ready.
Set.
Unstoppable.
We deal with your customs challenges, so you don't have to.
HOW WE WORK
Your customs position is either working for your business. Or it's costing you.
We find it
Duty recovery opportunities, commodity code inaccuracies, missed relief schemes and compliance gaps, identified through a systematic review of your customs position.
We fix it
We don't hand you a report and leave. We implement the solutions, applications, procedures, evidence preparation and the changes HMRC needs to see.
We stay
Monthly oversight means errors are caught before they become liabilities. Your customs position improves continuously as your business grows and trade volumes change.
Compliance means HMRC is satisfied. Optimisation means your business is. Most UK importers, exporters and manufacturers achieve the first, and never think to pursue the second. That's where we work.
Not sure which one fits your business? See the full range of customs regimes we work across, and we'll help you find the right starting point.
VIEW ALL SERVICESOne-off entries from £65 each. Ongoing monthly volume is quoted together, not per declaration, so the more you ship, the lower your cost per entry.
SEE YOUR OPTIONSTrusted trader status recognised in 80+ countries. One client passed their HMRC reassessment with zero major non-conformances, then won two multi-million-pound contracts on the strength of it.
LEARN MOREThe reassurance of an in-house customs department, without the overhead of hiring one. Every declaration audited monthly, before HMRC ever needs to ask.
SEE HOW IT WORKSTHE READYSET DIFFERENCE
Not a report. Not a checklist. A specialist who stays until it's done.
You don't want a 50 page report full of theory. You want lower duty, faster clearance, and nothing for HMRC to find. We learn your products and supply chain, then stay alongside you to make sure it happens.
WHY BUSINESSES TRUST US
Zero major non-conformances. Two multi-million-pound contracts won.
We took an AEO applicant through the full HMRC gap analysis, application and audit process. They passed their first HMRC site visit with zero non-conformances flagged, then used the accreditation to win two new contracts worth seven figures between them.
£50,000 duty demand withdrawn in full. No duty paid, no penalty issued.
One of our clients was facing a five-figure HMRC assessment after a preference audit found no valid proof of origin on file. We rebuilt the evidence entry by entry, recovered retrospective statements of origin from every EU supplier, and got the demand withdrawn in full before HMRC issued a formal C18.
Industries we work with
Our clients are importers, exporters, manufacturers and distributors across the UK. If your goods cross UK borders, regardless of sector, size or trade volume, we can help.
A personal approach to global trade
A clothing importer has different challenges than a chemical manufacturer or a tech firm. We take the time to learn your business and supply chain, and give every client the focused attention large consultancies can't offer.
We work with businesses across the UK: from London, Birmingham and Manchester to Leeds, Felixstowe and Southampton. Edinburgh to Belfast. Wherever you are.
-
Yes. Alongside our UK based clients, we support businesses trading internationally, including companies based abroad that import or export through the UK. If your goods cross UK borders, wherever your business is based, we can help.
-
A freight forwarder moves your goods through customs. A customs consultant manages your customs position, ensuring your declarations are accurate, your duty liability is optimised, and your business is protected from HMRC scrutiny. Most businesses need both, but they serve entirely different functions. Your freight forwarder is not responsible for errors in your declarations, you are.
-
Yes. Forwarders move the goods, but they aren't tax advisors. You are legally responsible for the data they submit. We make sure that data is correct.
-
It varies depending on your trade activity and how your customs is currently managed. Most businesses we review have identifiable opportunities, whether that's unclaimed duty relief, commodity code inaccuracies, or compliance gaps that carry financial risk. We tell you what we find, honestly.
-
One-off declarations start from £65 each. Ongoing monthly volume is quoted together, not per declaration, so the more you ship, the lower your cost per entry.
-
We perform a full audit of your past shipments to see if you have missed out on relief schemes or used incorrect codes that led to overpayment.
-
HMRC will review your customs declarations against your commercial records, checking commodity codes, valuations, duty payments and compliance procedures. Audits can cover up to four years of declarations. We prepare your team and your documentation in advance, join the audit process alongside you, and manage any follow up queries directly with HMRC.
-
HMRC issues a right to be heard letter before any formal demand for underpaid duty. The earlier we're involved the more options remain open, in one recent case we recovered missing evidence and got a £50,000 demand withdrawn in full. If you've received a query or a C18, contact us before responding.
-
Yes, we offer practical training for your team so they can handle daily customs tasks with confidence.
-
Never. In fact, small businesses are often the most at risk because they don't have the spare cash to pay for unexpected HMRC bills.
